ARMINCO Hosting Services

Effective June 15, 2004
Geo-Mirroring Hosting has been enabled. This means that now all out-of-Armenia traffic to your
website is handled by a separate cpanel server located in US
(cpanel.aic.net). All your data except MySQL databases is automatically syncronized with this
server each 2 hours. If you have MySQL databases, make sure you handle the table syncronization
between the two servers. To access the US server, click here.
To check the US version of your website, use http://cpanel.aic.net/~your_username/
If you are hosting a forum or any kind of similar content, make sure that you are using scheduled
jobs to syncronize with master server, cpanel.host.am. Either do insert/update queries only on the
master, and retrieve the tables from it, or, if you are using auto_increment fields, write a
unique id conflict resolution INSERT/UPDATE wrapper. The reason that the tables are not synchronized
automatically is because of possible data loss if web site visitors post something via web into the
SQL on the US server.
If you are getting failed ftp or mail connections, then you are trying to connect to the us server,
cpanel.aic.net. Both ftp and mail services are on this server, so make sure you're using
ftp.yourdomain.com for ftp and mail.yourdomain.com for incoming mail.
Please check the Documentation for more info.
Q. How do I manage my hosting account on the cpanel server?
A. Our server is based on the leading CPanel professional hosting suite. At the time of
writing it is considered the best shared hosting solution with user-friendly control
panel and total user control over their account management functions. To access your
control panel, point your browser to http://cpanel.host.am/cpanel/
For more info refer to CPanel Documentation which is available from your control panel interface.
Q. Is there a webmail interface for my domain email access?
A. Yes, you can access your domain's email mailboxes by pointing your browser to
http://cpanel.host.am/webmail/ or http://mail.yourdomain.com/webmail/
If you are loging into your main account, username is just your account name. If
you are logging into a different mailbox, username should be 'username@yourdomain.com'.
Q. Where did http://domain.am/squirrelmail go?
A. URL has been changed on the new system. See previous question.
Q. How can I add more mailboxes to my domain?
A. To manage your domain's mailboxes, login to your domain's control panel, and then go to 'Mail', then 'Add/Remove Accounts'.
Q. I'm unable to login to my account via ftp
A. Make sure you're supplying your username without '#mydomain.am' suffix. E.g. 'myusername', not 'myusername#mydomain.am'.
Q. What are the settings for mailbox access for my domain?
A. Our hosting suite can serve mailboxes using two standards: POP3 and IMAP4
POP3/IMAP4 Settings
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Username: username@yourdomain.com (with exception of the main account, which should be 'username', without '@yourdomain.com')
- Password: your_password
- Outgoing Mail Server: use your ISP's default outgoing mail server settings, OR,
- mail.yourdomain.com, enable SMTP Authentication and put your email address in the username field for SMTP username.
Outlook Express Autoconfigure option is also available via your control panel -> Mail -> Add/Remove Accounts for each mailbox you have opened.
For more info refer to CPanel Documentation which is available from your control panel interface.
